| United Counties' operation in the New City became Milton Keynes City Bus in the 1986 split and was sold to its management at privatisation; a subsidiary, Buckinghamshire RoadCar, was later set up to operate out-of-city services and the holding company also took over Johnsons of Hanslope in 1991. These fleets were subsequently acquired by Cambus Holdings, which sold out to Stagecoach in 1996. However, the Milton Keynes operations had to be divested and became part of the Status group as MK Metro until a surprise sale to Arriva in March 2006; the company is managed by Arriva the Shires but has retained its identity. Green Travel is a small subsidiary set up to take over inMotion's Milton Keynes operations, and the company also operates a few services in Northampton from a base at Cogenhoe. |
