| The former Northampton municipal fleet was purchased by the GRT group in 1993; GRT of course merged with Badgerline to form FirstBus (as it was originally known). This operation now shares its management with First's Leicester and Wyvern (formerly Midland Red) fleets, resulting in frequent vehicular transfers between these three operators. Although the municipal operation always bought new vehicles with very few exceptions, today's fleet of just over fifty is mostly second-hand from other parts of the First empire. |
