Red Kite commenced operations in 1996 with a few Bedford coaches, later joined by Bristol VRs for school services. The current fleet of around fifteen vehicles is mostly double-deck, but Red Kite is one of only two operators still running Bedfords in their county of manufacture! Following the purchase of a large batch of Olympians from the Go-Ahead group to replace the VRs, this group's corporate livery was adopted as standard and subsequent acquisitions from elsewhere have been repainted into it. A Red Kite vehicle could be seen for several years on RLS services 950 and 632, but these are no longer operated.
