Based in Buntingford with an established route network in Hertfordshire and Essex, during 2003 the Transit Group (incorporating London Transit and Stansted Transit) started an operation in Milton Keynes from a depot at Mount Farm. Despite grand plans to expand the fleet in this area up to 35 vehicles, this was never achieved and the Milton Keynes depot closed in August 2005, bringing to an end a short but interesting chapter of bus operation in the New City. Transit does however continue to run services in its original territory.
